Great News! First-Time Power Transmission Success! Electric Furnace System of Indonesia BMS Group Nickel Sulfate Project Commissioned Smoothly

 At 8:18 a.m. on March 17, 2026, upon the issuance of the power transmission order, the electric furnace system of the 31,400 TPY nickel sulfate project undertaken by our company under the EPC general contracting mode for Indonesia BMS Group was successfully energized on the first attempt! The smooth achievement of this key milestone marks that the project has fully shifted from the construction and installation stage to the trial production stage. It has laid a solid technological foundation for the subsequent core processes such as high-grade nickel matte preparation and battery-grade nickel sulfate refining, and accelerated the early realization of production capacity and efficient operation of the project.

Overcoming Challenges and Meeting Milestones on Schedule

On the eve of Eid al-Fitr in Indonesia, the successful completion of this key milestone has won high praise and full recognition from the owner, BMS Group. All on-site equipment operated smoothly with all parameters fully up to standard, fully demonstrating the superb technical strength and efficient overall execution capability of the project team. The project adopts a complete set of modern production lines, including one 36,000 kVA  RKEF production line, two converters and one advanced wet-process nickel sulfate production line. From a barren site to a bustling workshop with roaring machines, the project team overcame numerous difficulties in overseas construction and promoted the project construction in strict accordance with high standards and high quality.

Technological Innovation in Line with New Energy Trends 

The successfully energized electric furnace is the core of the RKEF section of the entire nickel sulfate project. According to our technical experts, the RKEF (Rotary Kiln-Electric Furnace) process is an advanced technology in nickel-iron smelting. Replacing traditional sintering machines and shaft furnaces, it efficiently produces nickel-iron molten iron through the perfect coordination of rotary kilns and electric furnaces. As the EPC general contractor, our company not only provides complete sets of core equipment, but also delivers fully independent and controllable process technologies and integrated solutions. The process flow of the project is scientifically and rigorously designed with a mature and advanced technical route: the efficient enrichment and refining of nickel raw materials are completed in the pyrometallurgical section to produce high-quality and high-value-added intermediate products; then refined treatment and deep purification are carried out in the hydrometallurgical section to finally produce high-standard battery-grade nickel sulfate.
